Been using my swage die and it works real well.
The die is a well machined die body with the internals that have a small button the size of a primer pocket on the end. The shell holder is at least 5/16 thick with a button that's the size of a large pistol primer on it with a rod that sticks up so the primer hole doesn't change size. To operate it put a case on the shellholder and raise the ram up, with the die screwed all the way in run the center of the die down till it hits the bottom of the case, lower the ram and go down 1/4 turn and raise the ram again, take the case out and measure how deep you are then do it again till you have the right depth. Some of the cases will stick on the shellholder and I used a small chisel to remove them. The pocket measured .128 deep and I changed it to .118 deep and the pistol primers worked great. Shot some case I changed with a new lot of Old Ensford yesterday afternoon and at 400 yards it shot a 10 shot group of 4 inches so I'm happy

THX for the picture and explanation of how it works. Does sound like it's in the KISS principle of things.....
Is this die caliber specific then? Or would it work for both my .45-70 & .45-90?
