I took my Wife Hunting
I'm not good putting my memoirs in words so I will just show pictures.
I only had two hunts with Rick at the Sand hills. One year I had to bow out because of health issues. Every one of the hunts were topnotch Plus a couple of us have met on his Ranch just to shoot his Quigley targets that are just like the Quigley targets and distances as well as a long shot out to 1580 yards. Just a fun get together with a couple friends and just shoot for a few days.
On this hunt my wife Carolyn wanted to go along and Rick said bring her Smile Rick has a real nice A frame his clients stayed in with all the comforts of home and Ricks Wife Doris prepared the three meals each day plus come out with the Blazer and trailer to pick up the downed animal to haul to the locker. I don't know how she did all this plus her business she kept up with.
On the morning of the hunt I told Carolyn to work the camera and stay quiet and stay behind me when we are stalking. Well she stayed close LOL I had to motion for her to not get to close LOL.

It was a damp morning and we made a stalk behind the dunes and before we saw them I could smell them and Carolyn whispered I hear them grunting and it sounds like they are moving at out left pretty close Smile Rick motioned to stop and come on up. When I saw them they where close maybe around 75 yards and they spotted us. They bunched up and the cows where grunting and old Brutus was staring at us and started shaking his head. Really to close for a shot I thought.

Well I could not get a clear shot and they moved off on a trot.
Made another stalk......darned sand burrs Dodgy you don't crawl on your belly to get a better look Smile

I finally got the got one in the open and Rick said I have him at 158 yards and I took it hitting him just above the heart through the lung. The .44-77 made a clean pass through but he did not go down and I made a second shot with him on a run and that shot was three fingers with from the first shot and that put him down after a short run.

This young Meat bull dressed out with 465 lbs of boned out meat.
On our way home Carol said I'm glad that I came with you for this hunt, but I will say it made my hair stand on end when we where close and that bull was swinging his head side to side. Smile She did well except when the action started she forgot about the camera LOL

The reason a dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
