To give you a idea on barrel weight.
Since I got bit hard playing the silhouette game I ordered a .40-65. with a #2 round barrel that is 1” across the flats and that may be a bit light so I increased it to a #2.5 which will be 1.03” at the breech and about .925” at the muzzle. I'm thinking that it will come in at around 10 pounds. It should make a fine off hand rifle.
My .44-77 Shiloh has a standard light weight 30" octagon barrel 1" at the breach and .900" at the muzzle it weighs in at 10#3.5 Oz. with a crescent butplate and barrel sights.......Kurt
