Thought I owed everyone a follow up, so the winner is a Kowa with the fixed 25 power eye piece. This last weekend I hosted a casual gong shoot and had 22 or so shooters. Targets were placed as far as 1,244 yards. We shoot to the east, and with the sun behind us, late in the day, I could see bullet splashes on the target. See them better than any scope that was there. I spent a lot of time behind the scope spotting for people and would get some eye strain but not what I was used to. So short story is, I'm loving the scope.
