don, ned is probably right.
however starting short and working out longer is never a bad thing.
I have used ldpe on its own, and ldpe plus felt, both with good results.
no free lunches here you have to do the yards to find best results, but when you do you will be astounded.

I paper patch to bore diameter for my .45-70 and will be doing so with my .40-60. I read about the breech seating and may give it a try. What's the purpose of having a gap between the over powder wad and the bullet base? Why not insert the bullet and breech seat it with the cartridge case, leaving relatively no gap?
