RE: .44-77 and paper patch?
Jim I lost the chamber specs for the Shiloh .44-77 reamer that was used for my rifle do to a computer crash. As long as your using the Shiloh remer and barrel ask Lucinda or Kirk for the drawing they are using now and I'm sure they will give it. They did for me.
here is a drawing for my .44-90 BN that was used for my rifle. I'm sure the base dimensions are the same for the .44-77 and the dimensions ahead of the 11 degree shoulder will be the same. The .44-90 BN uses a 11 degree shoulder and the .44-77 uses a 8 degree but I thing the neck and throat will be the same for the .44-77. They are for my standard chamber fro the .44-90 and the 77.
As far as the 45 degree transition it can always be changed with a throating reamer later on. I get along with both but like the 4 and 5 degree better. Less problems with lead bullets patched or naked.
