I see no difference at the finals between the two. Top score is top score in both disciplines.
I understand where Jim is coming from. Only the shooter and his spotter really know how well his gun was shooting.
If I'm all over the target and still win, I won't have faith in my rifle.
I have a lot more faith in my rifle than I do in my wind reading abilities, so I'm not a knob twister. I'm happy to stay in my little corner of the target and know the load is good if it stays there for the majority of the shots.
