One other thing.
Make sure you can slide a dollar bill between the back of the forearm and the front of your rec'r.
Double check your firing pin(take it out of the block)to be sure it's not broken. The FP is the most common part to break on '74s, followed by the lever spring.
I have broken many of both.....

yes, the screws are snug but not tight
