Re. Paper Thickness measurement.
Jim is right in suggesting to measure the actual add on diameter of the wrapped bullets.
Generally in the paper industry I left. We measured paper thickness with a
dial gauge that has 1/2" diameter pads on the anvil and shaft and a consistent
Standard spring pressure.
I believe, tho a person can get a decent measurement by developing a
consistent "clamping" of a machinist mike using the 'clicker" and
measuring 4 layers of paper in a number of areas. Depends a lot on
the degree of uniformity of the formation of the fibers in the paper
