RE: Lodi BPTR Midrange results of 9/23,24/23
I decided to go kind of last minute. I needed to deliver some ammunition that I was helping a friend sell.
Since I was going, Neal decided he’d go too.
I was poorly equipped for the 22 match and it sure showed in my score. I took the only rifle I had on hand that could get elevation for 300 yards. A Miroku low wall is in no way a target rifle! I had fun though and will definitely be better equipped next time!
The Mid Range Match was great fun. I was really cooking for the first two 500 yard targets. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough of the ammo I was shooting for the last one and changed to another batch that might’ve been a mix from previous matches. Needless to say, things went south in a hurry putting me in 11th place at the end of the first day. Neal had built up a strong lead by then and I knew he was looking good to win the aggregate.
On Sunday I decided to shoot the grease groove ammo I had along and things went much better. I finished first for the day but couldn’t crawl out of the hole that I’d dug for myself on Saturday.
Neal hung in there and finished first in the aggregate with Sam Thompson just behind him.
It was a fun weekend of shooting and seeing people I don’t often see. My thanks to Cliff, Mark, Matt, and Robin for the great match.
Congratulations to Arnie for the 99-3 at 500 which was the high single score shot on either day!
Jim
