spotting scope question

I have a Konus that has been most satisfactory over the last 6 or 7 years. It remains fog free and provides excellent clarity. It is not a 1500 dollar prestige Kowa scope but the performance difference between the Kowa and the Konus ($225.00) is not enough for me to justify the monetary difference.
