RE: 45 2 7/8 Groove Dia Patched
That's right Steve he does and I think he is also using a .454 mold IIRC. At one time I had a Tom Ballard cut on Lyman blocks C Sharps mold that was adj at .448" dia.. I did sell that to a guy in California so he could get his 45-90 Shiloh/C Sharps Farmer up and running. I sent him some bullets to try first and he was able to make them shoot minimal effort( gun had the famous freebore problems). Where there is a will there is usually a way to get'r done. It took a lot of years to get on the right track of successful patching with my 50-3 1/4" because of the bs advice I got and the 3/8" freebore in it. I did persevere and achieve good results but you know it just isn't an everyday shooter either. It is my hope guys can gain solid knowledge from things others have done that worked and didn't work so they can atleast start out in the right direction to success right here on this site, in this forum. Constructive input of successes and objective input from what didn't work sometimes is just as valuable to one starting out. bobw
