RE: A lot of firsts
Thanks Don, I wiped after ever shot, If I didn't I could not seat the next round. Typically 2 wet, 1 dry. Visually inspected the bore to ensure that it was clean. Maybe too clean. I'm using "friendship speed juice" as my wiping solution. I had it on hand for cleanup of my cap n ball pistols and it did such a good job I thought "why not". Re Paper. First paper was the BACO #9 onion skin paper that patched to .400 next outing I used Staedtler 8lb tracing paper that wrapped to .399. I just eyeball placing the paper on the bullet in relation to where it starts to taper. Would being off a few thousands also contribute to loose groups. Wad stack, I'm using a 1/8 durofelt wad and rubber/cork gasket wad that I've read a lot of folks have been using. It's a unlubed felt wad instead of lubed wonder wads that I believe you and a lot of others are using. If I continue to get erratic groups I'll pick up a package of the pre-lubed wads.
