Don, I agree completely that the 25" transom boats are a really good deal in this country; especially if one is dealing w/ times of stronger winds and lumpy water. Again, you have a really nice boat/motor combo.

For slowing down trolling you might also consider a nylon boat brake (parachute for lack of a better term). These slow down a boat, and add a lot of boat control especially if it's a little windy, boat control is a pain and lure proximity to the bottom is important. We use them a lot in the big water here. I got mine from Cabela's many years ago.

What kinds of fish do you guys have to work w/ in your area; pike, salmonids, bass? The reason I ask is that slowing down trolling speed in mid-late summer in warmer waters can be counter-productive for many of these species. In fact speeding up a little and letting out another 40' of line can often make a night/day difference in success around here on especially pike (walleyes and northerns) and salmonids, particularly if one is using spinners, or crankbaits. I've seen that more often than not here in mid-late summer. Just a thought.
