Around here we don't have all that much snow, but I'm not far from having to put the extension on the ice auger. Ice is real close to 30" thick, and could easily be 40" by 1 March.Big Grin

Strange that you mention Ice fishingSmile I just checked out the ice condition on the Mississippi river back waters Monday. I went to all of the popular fishing holes and I did not see one shanty anyplace Huh and no open water in the normal spots I saw every winter. That solid blanket of snow is a bad thing when your on the ice it could be bridging the thin ice where the currents rolling over rocks or shallows. Plus the snow insulates keeping the ice from getting thick.
I went down to the dam to check out what the Bald Eagles where doing and the water boiling up from under the rollers is pretty close to the dam.
There were about 40 or 50 Eagles but the ice they land on to eat their catch is not blood covered like years past.
We got a new blacked of snow last night and the sun is out now but it's still snowing. We been getting hit just about every two days and I'm running out of a place to push it.
The reason a dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
