Compressing Swiss 1.5

RE: Compressing Swiss 1.5
Well,

I got my case of Swiss 1.5 recently and worked up a load in my 45-70 with a 535 grain PJ Postell. I found that 64.0 grains of powder compressed .194" will give me the accuracy I'm looking for at 100 and 200 yards. I haven't had a chance to try it at extened ranges yet, but I am certainly anxious to. Its velocity is only 1,124 fps. but it shoots through the same ragged hole at both 100 and 200 yards. I know this load may not be suited for full midrange shooting, and I may need to work up the powder charge. I could see that the group opened up past 64.0 grains, but started closing up again at 68.0 grains. It's a work in progress, but I'm enjoying shooting it currently at the longest range our shooting club has, 200 yards.
