RE: 459 530gr NASA bullet
jreed,
I would be very wary of that bullet unless you have a lot of bpcr experience.
the reason is the long bore riding section can, like a patched to bore bullet bump up into the rifling.
it is unprotected by lube and can lead a barrel severely.
possibly blowtubing would be ok for all but the first shot.
mucking around with alloy might help, getting it hard enough to avoid bumpup.
another thing that might help is diplubing the entire bore riding section with the right lube.
I have often wondered if the nasa bullet might not be better with micro mini grooves in the bore riding section.
as it is it would probably work better with smokeless than black as there is less bumpup with smokeless.
the bands would then need to be at least 0.002 bigger than any freebore that might exist, and if no freebore then a nice firm fit into the neck of a fired case.
keep safe,
bruce.
