45 90 & OE 1.5
On the range today to verify the load I'd previously used for long range competition. Starline 45 90 brass fire formed and neck sized, Federal large pistol primer with a note card under primer wad. 81.0 grains of OE 1.5, .060 poly wad and the BACO 458 535 Money bullet ( actual weight 526 grains), seated with the first grease groove exposed. Wiped between shots with 1 damp/1 dry. 200 yards benched with Distant Thunder front and rear sights. 2 inch vertical by 2.5 inch horizontal. 2 inch X ring and 3.7 inch 10 ring. After zeroing I got:6 X's, 5 10's. 5 shots 2.5 inches off of center between 9 and 10 O'clock and 2 nines low at 6 and 8 O'clock due to poor sight alignment. This is about the best I can do with iron sights. Pretty good load it seems to me! This Shiloh #1 with a heavy 30 inch barrel has been a good shooter and pretty much likes everything I put through it but really started shooting with the BACO Money Bullet and the Paper Patched .444 dia. version of the same.
