RE: lead/tin vs. Lyman #2
Howdy all, just took delivery of 230+ lbs. of Mystery Alloy from fellow getting out of casting (actually split 463# with buddy). As soon as I get handle on what is what it will be time to fire up the 100# pot and re-melt mystery metal into batch of ingots that yield same alloy/ mold yield weight. It'd be nice to afford melting all factory certified metal but the price was just too good to pass up. I figured conservatively this past year firing about 100 # or so of PB down range. What is your normal burn rate for alloy? Where we've shot so far lead is not recoverable (club rules) I guess tossing .45 cal. pills instead of smaller bores one has to pay the piper ;-)
