Paul Jones mould

RE: Paul Jones mould
I also have 2 Paul Jones moulds (.40 and .45 cal.) and I agree w/ Cody S. in that they cast very nice bullets that perform well. I also agree that the Buffalo Arms bullets are very precise, and also cast very good bullets. Another source for your future reference is the Accurate moulds line of bullets; they also cast very good bullets, and the moulds are somewhat more cost friendly than some of the custom moulds.

Good shooting to ya.

RE: Paul Jones mould
Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Feel better now!

Been waiting on a Ballard to be relined with John Taylor to 40-65 with the intent of diving into this BP world for the first time. Reckon one of these other single shots is gonna be taking it's place as first-in-line while I'm waiting on John.

I have used Tom several times and like every mold I've got from him. I just sent in two designs, one for a Ballard Pacific in 40-63 and one for a Marlin 1895 in 40-65 . Got a message over the weekend that they are in the mail. I didn't know till this go-round that Tom didn't do a round nose - decided to still go with him anyway for the 40-63; I sketched out a bullet that (according to Tom Meyer's) program has a 31++ BC so hoping to find it does tolerable well, at least through the learning curve. I bought a Snover off ebay too for the Ballard 40-65 till I have better ideas where I ought to go.

Appreciate your putting my mind to rest on the PJ. Likely go to him or Buffalo Arms once I get a reading on the Snover in the 40-65 - that is, once it's back home. btw... for some reason I thought he had retired - is it that or he's just not taking orders as fast as he once did?

Paul Jones was (is) also a very nice guy that was super helpful to me when I got started. I have gone quite a ways in competition shooting his molds and hope to go further yet. I didn't have any success in BPCR until I called Paul and he helped me to pick out a mold and gave me some good instructions on casting. I had several conversations with him and they all were very helpful and pleasurable. I do think the current Buffalo Arms molds are close to if not as good as the PJ's. Everyone has an opinion...
take care, Cody

X2 about a PJ mould. My Creedmoor is shot as cast(30:1), and it's the most accurate bullet either of my Shiloh's have ever seen.
No way, will I be sell'n it-Tongue
Paul was a great help to me when I started.

Hav'n you along, is like losing two good men.....
