Bob, I think winter quit us a couple weeks ago. Hope it comes back with a bunch of spring snow so the grass turns green this summer.

Yup. Baby steps. Based on the way I wrap Christmas presents and elk meat for the freezer, I decided to start with greasers so a known frustration could be eliminated and I could enjoy learning BPCR shooting. I plan to work up to paper patch; I ordered a Shiloh bull barrel buffalo rifle based on what a Ft Griffin rifle looked like that was sold at an auction recently. I want to paper patch for that one at least. My wife was a neo-natal nurse with plenty of diapering experience, plus she does a much better job wrapping elk meat, so maybe I can talk her into diapering a few bullets. There could be hidden costs with that method though.

The real frustration will be all that leading you'll be dealing with and all the different solvents and cleaning rods and jags and hammers and brushes and stuff you will have to buy to try to get it out.. If you started with the paper you'd skip one big frustration plus a lot of money on lube and molds that will be obsolete in a couple months !!

Leading neither my .45-70 or .45-90 does that, and I don't have diapers on my bullets either.
I clean use'n Windex with a cotton ball and a brass brush.
