Hey Don
Gail handed me the new .45-90 this morning. Now to get home and see if it will shoot Tongue

I also had them re chamber one of the .44-75's to the .44-2.5 sbn.
Maybe the heavy load of 105 gr of OE will straighten the best out.

RE: Hey Don
Raining pretty hard here in the smoky hills. Wood is in the rough and needs to be filed down and sanded some and oil put on it before I get it wet.
Wood sure looks fine for standard wood again.
This wood looks like it has been cut from the same plank.
The serial number is special too.

RE: Hey Don
We had ove 1 3/4 in. of rain and then it started snowing. Had about 4 inches on the ground for most of the day. Going to be soggy around here for a few days..

RE: Hey Don
Hey Kurt, Be sure to tell us about shooting that .44-2 5/8". Maybe you can tell me some tricks to use with mine. I'll have it at Quigley again. Shoot sharp, Mike

RE: Hey Don
Mike.

I just had one CPA .44 rechambered to the .44-2-5/8 when I picked the new one. The barrel was made by Oregon Barrel a it has a 1/16 ROT. I will let you know when I get a chance to work with it. First I have to get the new .45-90 going for next week at Lodi. This rifle has a tight chamber for PP only and I have to cut a sizing die for it when I get home. A over the counter sizing die won't take the neck down enough for the case to chamber.

RE: Hey Don
Kurt, what I do with this patch chambered 45-90, is size the cases in the 44-90 st die, then expand the case mouth enough to take the patched bullet.
Have a bunch loaded up and ready to fire form , just need the weather to cooperate.

RE: Hey Don
Don is that your new rifle with the Dan T. chamber? If so, have you shot it yet?

I size my new cases and then use a Lyman taper crimp die to take the mouths down until they chamber. Interestingly I have two rifles with his .45-70 chamber, and they'll chamber new brass fine after just full length sizing with my RCBS .45-70 dies.

RE: Hey Don
Chris, yes , that's the one, but unfortunately no I have not fired it yet... And it doesn't look like the weather will get cooperative until sometime late next week..

RE: Hey Don
Heck Don just open the kitchen window if it aint fit outside and lether rip that's what I do LOL.
My chamber is so tight I cant chamber a fired .45-70 case shot in my Shiloh. It sticks out about a 1/2"
I have a die blank and I will run to my friends place and use his lathe to make the die.
