Mid range match
Weekend of April 22-23 got 3 matches coming up, one is a BPTR-Mid range at Milan, never shot a mid range match before. Could someone tell me if they shoot prone off sticks or what the course of fire would be.
Thanks for your replys,Bill

RE: Mid range match
Depends on the type of match they shoot. If it's a position match, 200 offhand, 300 sitting or kneeling cross ticks, 600 yds any position except benchers.
Prone match would be any position from 2-600. You also can use a wrist rest in place of the sticks in the prone match.
4 sighters, 10 shots for score, 23 minutes.

Bill.
The position is your choice. I shoot all three sitting off sticks because of back problems that I cant get back up from prone. Some shoot all three ranges prone.
There are some shoot muzzle loaders and they are allowed extra five minutes.

Also you can carry your silhouette classification into midrange. Master is master , AAA is expert, AA is sharpshooter, and A/B is Marksman.
Kurt you mean prone don't you? Position requires the 200 yd to be shot off hand.

RE: Mid range match
Don, The Milan match is a relaxed match, not a NRA match. You can follow the NRA midrange format if you wish. I cant lay on the ground anymore shooting prone so I have to hold a little tighter shooting sitting
I wont make the Milan shoot the 22'th. Beltfed Arnie invited me to come up to Wisconsin Rapids that weekend to shoot with him up there so the gypsy wagon tongue will be pointed north that weekend.
