RE: 44 ?
Unfortunately, some have found out the very disappointing way that what the postal scale at home and the postal scales at the post office say doesn't matter, certified or not.

What matters is what the scale at the match says, certified or not.

Been bit by that dog. Just took off the steel butt plate.

At one point GM did offer a .44 in a 3 1/2 profile, that is what mine is. If you want a 3 1/2 give them a call and see if they have any on the shelf. A lot of times when their inventory gets low they will pull the listing off of the web site but still have a few on the shelf.

RE: 44 ?
A few years ago I rebarreled a C. Sharps Hi wall with a GM Sharps #1 taper.
Chambered to 44/90 st. (2.4"case),cut to 32" with the long Kelly front & Kelly mid range rear and Mva scope blocks,it was under 12#.
As it was it shoot extremely well, but a little to muzzle heavy.
I cut it back to 28" and added lead to the butt to bring it up to just under 12#.

I called Green Mountain a while back asking about the 3.5 taper. They have none in stock and have none on their to do list.
Should have ordered more of them when they were available.AngryAngry

Thnx Lots
