shiloh order question
I'm looking for a Shiloh 74 in 40 70SS. Thinking about going to the guy that
puts them on order then charges extra to have them build you your toy. Shorter wait.

site says orders taken now will be ready in Jan next year.
Goodman is the name of the business.
Anyone heard about this business? Any thoughts?
I know gun broker etc. are dangerous and I'm not going that route for $3K.
Thanks...Ken

RE: shiloh order question
Bill Goodman usually has a few rifles on hand. He may even have a used one.. He orders a few new Shilohs every few months, so he has rifles coming in as time goes by. On his website, he lists the options on rifles he either has in stock, or arriving soon. Buyers will pay a few bucks more for a rifle, but they get it sooner, if its to their liking.

All the best, Jim
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

RE: shiloh order question
Bill is a great guy,I went that route with my first Shiloh he guided me into what he thought the best features for what I was intending(silhouette). I ordered standard wood and ended up with semi fancy as a mistake in grading wood at Shiloh, benefitted me with no additional cost. That is very rare but it does happen. When he received the rifle and did the final bill he had thought I ordered semi fancy he rechecked the order and saw I had not ordered semi fancy Shiloh did not upcharge for the nicer wood.He is I believe Shiloh's only stocking dealer. He has 10 spots a month on the production line with a small window to make changes for customers, for $200.00 over list price worth every cent.

RE: shiloh order question
Another vote here for Bill Goodman. Very happy with my dealings with him and that extra $250 is money well spent. If you choose to put down a custom order through him you'll need $1k deposit but for any of the existing orders he has coming in you'll be fine. My best delivery time was under six months and my longest was just over twelve ..and that rifle had quite a few custom features. Check out his website and give him a call, you may find something in the pipeline or in stock that suits you just fine. Very easy fellow to deal with. WWW.SHILOH-BALLARD.COM

RE: shiloh order question
Bill Goodman is a great guy to work with and there is no risk or need for concern dealing with him. He is very straight forward in his dealings and a big help throughout the process. I got exactly what he had advertised and on time. Couldn't be better.

I too also have an order in with him at the present time. Big help with you getting what you want. For the extra cash he charges, and the trouble you save, it's well worth it.
