Hi Guys
Please allow me to introduce myself Big Grin

My name is Doug and I'm planning on shooting some BPCR Silhouette so I'll be here asking questions and wringing out your brains looking for help along the way.

I placed an order for a CPA 44 1/2 the other day so I have some time on my hands to gather more equipment and start learning what I need to know. This is my second go round with BPCR as I had a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps Business rifle replica about ten years ago but never really got that shooting all that great with the buckhorn rear sight - probably my fault.

As I approach 50 years of age I find myself drawn more and more to the old ways. I've been enjoying an Uberti 1860 Army lately as well.

I'm looking forward to this rifle and project and I'm glad to have found this forum. Seems to be just what I need.

RE: Hi Guys
Thanks guys.

Not too much of a bank account to lose so I may as well have some fun.

I ordered a 45-70 because I have the dies, brass and a Lyman Mould I can use. I also shoot at a 1K yard range almost monthly so I'd like to try and stretch it out a bit.

I also ordered a .22LR barrel for it. My thoughts are that I can use that for easy practice close to home so hopefully the steel won't seem so far away on match day.

I can see myself in the future with a 40-65 or similar for less recoil and whitetail hunting. I already set aside some Hornady 'short - Leverevolution ' 45-70 brass to form into 40-65 when I'm starting that project.

I'm really looking forward to this.

RE: Hi Guys
I'll have to look into that. There was a club running matches not too far from me but I don't presently see any listed on their calendar.
