That Time Of Year!
Hello everyone. I belong to a private gun club..only joined for use of ranges..I work nights so I'm kind of caterwampus with rest of worlds timeline! I used to shoot in morning before work,,but since they changed our hours...I don't get out until 3:00AM..limited to mostly Sundays.
Anyways..most of the time ranges are pretty much empty..only one or two die hards thru summer and early fall...But..for the next three weeks they open their doors to public for sight-in-days...brings extra cash in for club & brings in new members..which is fine..but I can't shoot the way I want to then..and besides..it's downright dangerous! Few years ago older fellow couldn't understand why he couldn't continue to fire with people downrange changing targets! Then there are the ones who try to fire the wrong ammo in their guns.."Gee the sales clerk said it was .30 cal.!" Or the fellow who kept cross-firing on neighbors target..had scope mounted sideways!
So this time of year, I go over to 25yd. pistol range try out my long neglected revolvers. Sometimes this isn't foolproof..had fellow bring lead-sled and 300 Win Mag. with muzzle break no less! and not just try to get on paper..proceded to shoot a couple of boxes thru!
Oh well..hopefully this nice weather will hold and range will be deserted after the 11'th!
