Way back in the 60s, I had a pristine original 1895 lightweight take down in 30-06.
Damn mean gun on the shoulder . So, Sold it. no regrets
maybe 6-8 years ago, I picked up a 1895, caliber 38=72, with an Win 21 sight, too, no less.
Well, It would not work with my brass from my other 38-72 --405 hornady brass formed,etc.
Rims too thick. Could have recut the chamber with my DT 38-72 reamer, but decided not to.
The rifling twist was very slow for light orig express loadings.
So, down the road it went.
This one, hindsight, I should have kept and hunted with
beltfed/arnie
