Over time there has been questions about the day to day general condition of a certain Lumpy person.
You take a look at this and you tell me,

RE: rear sight glare
you can tell from the photo that the rear sight is out of plumb, the top needs to tilt towards the receiver

even though the short level on barrel is not clear, she is level, check the rear sight against the window trim, its a dead give away

if there is not enough adjustment do I elongate the hole in the tension spring? I have not tried to adjust it yet

Yup Jim. That was the "Q" in 2010.
Very best of times!
How did you find that?.........LOL

CL, I would call MVA today, and talk to Jim(owner).
That sight needs adjusting for sure.
Make sure the staff to base screw is tight.

Ok, I talked to Jim at MVA, he stated that the screw slot is elongated and it will hopefully adjust out, if not he said to elongate hole with a file and to file from the top side to the rear/base side, less danger of harming the blueing. I will do this tomorrow when I have had no beers

RE: rear sight glare
If that barrel is level and judging it by the fireplace mantal it looks pretty close. The sight staff is leaning back enough to cause your problem. The slot on that spring is more then enough to be able to move that staff forward. forget the level loosen the screw move the staff and tighten the screw and your job will be done. Smile
