I don't know much about Mini's except what I use. I did see several different types at the yearly collectors show and I saw some on the table marked Barnard used in a enfields. They resembled the ring tailed bullets used in the percussion sharps and they had more lube rings.
I use a mini in a .010 deep 70 twist .58 caliber barrel and it shoots quite well in it.

I found some info on the Bernard Minie, or facsimile thereof. The bullet on the right is alleged to be a very close clone and comes from a Lyman mould still in production. The fella that showed me this said he turned down the base plug to thicken the base a bit and shoots them from a 70 twist ML with hunting grade accuracy.
