Jojoba Oil
Back in the mid 80's we experimented with it as a ML patch lube, etc and my supply has long gone away. Interested in trying it on certain PP loads tho. So DON, do I need to order conventional, organic, cold pressed, virgin, 10W-30W, or what??????Rolleyes

RE: Jojoba Oil
Sam if you have a GNC healthfood or similar store close by, that's the place to get it locally. I think they only have one brand of pure jojoba oil.
Someone said you could get it at Walgreens, but I haven't been in a Walgreens in years.

About any health food or natural grocery store ought to have it. You can order it, http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2188173
and if you go on Ebay or Amazon there's a ton of it listed there.

That's the outfit I was looking at the other day and thinking about ordering some soy wax to go along with some jojoba and paraffin to try as a bullet lube.

When you tip your Elk or deer trim the fat and render it down for tallow. It will be better than the Soy.
Just set a Stock pot on a hot plate outside and put that fat in a large stock pot and let it simmer, not in a boil, for several hours but dont let it run out of water. Then strain it through a gunny sack or cheese cloth or what ever when it's still hot and let it cool.

This late in the season, not sure how much fat a fella could trim off an elk....
In the early part in Sept the buggers are so fat the tallow will coat your knife till it won't hardly cut..

RE: Jojoba Oil
I´ve found out that some "organic" and other hippie scamshops sells "purified" jojoba oil, which is always clean with no trace of the typical "fog" at lower temp. How is it done? Cool it down and then run it through centrifugal device. Jojoba oil without the jojoba properties. Customers want it...
