I would say that 3F is not the best option, albeit in no way I want to say it´s generaly a no-go option. The BP burns the faster the higher the pressure is, albeit just to some degree. But the degree is as high that it usualy burns down totaly with heavy projectiles. I bet you know it. From ML exp. I would say that for 45 cal about 360 grs is like the max as to having complete and clean burn within whole barrel. Seems to me that over 400 grs it has almost finished burn in 30,5" barrel, any heavier I only get condensation and crud crust fruther and fruther from the muzzle as bullet weight increases.
So I would say only to look into Express loads of the dawn of the smokeless era (since real dusk or decline of the BP can never rel happen until final countdown or whatever such will come).
Just like with my current Kropatschek rifle project, where I get 8" from muzzle crusted with 3F and with a lot of loads no flame and almost no smoke, as it condensates in the barrel. Terrible mess from it and inaccuracy. Yep, I got 18 ft flame needle out of this rifle with 3F, but it was load to test some extreme (wrong) limit of an idea, with a bit over bore bullet patched to groove, some weird compression, stub heavy bullet digged it´s heels into the rifling and due to speech it gave audible and feelable ways I doubt I ever want to duplicate it. Albeit it was fun to see the real down animal fear in the eyes of a man who is used to 308 derp loads from barely 7 lbs gross weight rifle incl. 12x50 scope, handing me the 10,4 lb old lady back that it´s quite too much. I considered it fun, albeit the accuracy was nothing to talk about.
