I cant get it any better

I been playing in the snow again this winter to find the right alloy mix for the new Danielson 514 prolate bullet mould I got last fall for the .45-2.4.
I wanted the least amount of bullet setback plus soft enough so I get full upset to have the lands get a good grip for rotation and not letting the nose get deformed and to have the patch just high enough so bare lead don't come in contact with the lands to keep the lead smears off the lands and groves that destroys the accuracy before the end of a relay.
That bullet only shortened up .023" and the nose held with out a blemish.
Now to continue load development for the summer silhouette matches.

Dave it's the picture. I chucked a couple bullets up in a collet and using the lathe with a 1/2 thousands movement dial indicator and the only bump I get is on one parting line.

That alloy I used for that bullet in the .45-2.4 using 81 gr of 3Fg Olde Eynsford powder. That alloy would not stand in your 100 or 115 gr load in the 2-7/8 like it does for the load I shot it with. I ran alloys from 1/20 to 1/14 and some had tin, lead and copper alloys and they all reacted differently as far as nose setback and expansion that had a positive effect on how the lands engraved the shank. The 1/14 T/L and some of the triple alloy bullets did not engrave the lands 360 degrees around the shank for the .45-70 loads.
But anyway that bullet above had a mix of 19# lead and a 1# roll of no lead solder that had 95% Tin, 2% silver, 3% copper.
I had short shallow land cuts using 2F OE.

Man, I realy envy you. First, for the seemingly well ballanced load and tight chamber-as well as the snow you had. As to aspects of internal ballistics, it seems to me it can´t be any better, maybe if you get into tweaking variations for different weather conditions or moon phases.

I also shot some with 1/16 T/L with the same 81 gr load of 3F OE and they don't look to bad but the setback was greater at .049" and the lands cut up into the ogive past the patch.
The 2f load of 84 gr looked good.

The snow I could get along just fine if I didn't get so much of it along with the extreme cold we are having this year.
I wasn't going to shoot snow banks any more, but the winter boredom drove me to it again. Besides I had a new bullet to play with.
