I have a Swage tool that came with a 45 caliber slug gun...I can't figure out how to easily get the lead slug our of the tool...if a even tap the plunger with a small amount of pressure the slug won't leave the tool... when I push on the rod by the nose of the slug...what maintenance should I do to the tool ...it appears clean I have oiled it to aid in dropping out the slug still NG

RE: Swage Tool
Did you prelube the slug before forming? I've not used what you have, but modern swaqging requires a prelubed slug for easy removal. Try Lyman spray case lube.

RE: Swage Tool
You don't want to use to much lube or it will make an ugly looking bullet
My swage lube is a mix of mineral oil and lanolin. a very thin almost dry coat on a case lube pad like a RCBS or just a little on your finger tips if your just doing a few will do.
