Hanz, Byrd Miller enlisted in the US Navy when 16 & at age 17 he landed on the beach of Okinawa which became the bloodiest battle of the Pacific in WWII. You are correct, I will never forget who owned this sixgun or his son Wayne who gifted it to me.

Thanks for sharing Byrd Miller's story, and the videos of his .44 Mag!!!
It stirred a chord in me as well... I wound up with a very good friend's Browning A5 similarly... I'll always treasure it, and his memory.
I had to compare your revolver to my 629: It looks like you must have something like a 6" barrel on yours (mine's 4", better for concealed work... It's actually my every day carry piece, downloaded with fairly stiff .44 SPL's.).
Couldn't help but notice, I don't know if it was just a fluke of the videoing of it, but the gun looks almost like a .38 SPL in your hands (2:30 into the 3:10 clip).

Over here fooling around & just noticed this. It is the same sixgun throughout the video. If you notice the sixgun has the red ramp sight. It also has an enclosed ejector rod which I can't recall S&W producing such in 38 Special. But I could be wrong.
