RE: Hartford front sight
You actually get more moisture down the barrel when you blow directly down the muzzle.
Just look at the blow tube while you blow through it and see the moisture droplets stay behind.

RE: Hartford front sight
Stephen.
Now that you have had this front sight for a spell, how are you getting along with it?
If possible I would like to see it mounted on your rifle.
My eyes are going dim and I been changing my front sight on my Hartford with different blades but I'm really not coming up with a combination that works well in low light on heavy over cast days against a dark back ground like you find on a Buffalo.
Brass and nickel is the only thing I haven't tried yet.

RE: Hartford front sight
At times while attending the Quigley shoot, I will blow moisture into the muzzle of my rifle. Depends on how long its been since I fired the last shot. Some practice-days, I shoot all day without cleaning the bore.
Whatever works,
Jim
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

Kurt I really like it. I will get a picture and post it for you. In fact I need to build two more, one for the 40 and one for the new 50/70 coming.
Thanks

RE: Hartford front sight
Kurt here's one. I've killed two deer and I think 8 or 9 antelope with this sight. I got my first one from Orville in 2008, been building and using them ever since.
Thanks
