RE: .38-50 Hepburn
A real hit to our sport, with Hodgdons deciding to not rebuilt and get back to production of the Goex BP products
At least, Powder Inc/Powder valley has said they do expect more Swiss powder to arrive this fall/early winter. So that is some relief, though more expensive for the Goex users.
Personally, I have continued to use the Swiss.
But, no unlimited supply here at home so I do hope they are right that they will be receiving more Swiss
I, too was surprised at the velocities of these loads in the 38-50
It seems to shoot rather flat out to the 600yds line, so far.
I will look up my sight come-ups to see how they compare

Had a little time today to work on my 38/50 and Arnies bullets, tried a couple of different papers, 55W looks to be the best fit for my barrel and chamber.
Tried 55Y and another fatter paper. Will load some up later today as the rain just quit for awhile.

Bill,
I look forward to hearing as to how my bullets shoot in your CPA/GM /12 twist.
OH,and please note that my bullets are an alloy of : 90% COWW/10%Lino.
BHN about 15.
I too find the 55W to be a good fit on these 38 cal bullets in my rifle.

Bill,
That group is really good at 300yds.
Load of 64 grains/0.060LDPE is about what a "usual" load works for me
Oh, I have been using Fed 150 LP primers seated thru target paper.

I swage my brass to take LP and use federal GM Match LP primers.
Adjusted my compression die and changed it from .135 to .110 depth and will try the last 10 bullets.
