... Certainly not the only one Mike. . Just means we're still alive Bob , my son will be shooting his 40/70 ss , Shiloh Creedmoor. I certainly agree on you about getting youngsters involved. Dead certain I agree with you on the Montana ..( and visiting ) talent also.My son recently turned 15 ..and not a lot goes unnoticed

Gavin, I'd like to meet your son and maybe trade some notes with him, or you. I just might have my .40/70 SS C. Sharps Highwall at Quigley, that is if it ever learns how to shoot. Actually that statement is unfair, I just got it on paper today at 200 yards. This time the scope was mounted tightly enough that it didn't move. All shots scored and that amounted to 35 shots, at 100 yard paper, plus gongs at 100 and 200 yards, without cleaning. By the time I got to the 200 yard paper, the gun must have been pretty tired. Also, I shot some paper patched bullets through my .40/70 SS today for the first time. That was rather nice but windage was off. Still good! Anyway, I just might take my .40/70 along on that trip.
