Hi Bob-------what rifle is it going on, caliber ?

This one will be my silhouette rifle, then current #1 will get a new barrel and be set up for hunting Smile

I'm arguing with myself about a scope------i sooooo prefer irons but glass may be needed before to very long

Dave

Not decided completely on it yet Dave but I'm thinking a 14# bull barrel on a Montana Roughrider with a steel checkered shot gun butt. I'd have it chambered original style tight for 45 2 7/8", same reamer as my Business rifle. The main difference between them of course would be more weight and a straighter stock for LR work. My business rifle stock dimensions are fine until after 800 yds and without added comb height I start to lose good cheek to stock weld. Strappon dodaws work for gays but I prefer good wood to cheek fit for my best shooting(sorry couldn't resist the pun). Yeah prolly gussy up the wood and metal some to. Having it factory prepared for an MVA scope would also be done. Prolly a #113 frt sight and take the Soule XLR off my Business rifle for the new one. I have 3 Shilohs but none of them have a pewter forend tip so it would get that. Now that I think on it and vocalize it ,I'd see if Shiloh could come up with a piece of walnut presentation grade like on the #3 on the catalog cover. It is so grand looking that it would break the concentration of atleast 3 shooters on either side of a guy on the firing line. I wouldn't have to increase my skill any but I could just beat down my near competitors too win. So many options and models hard to tell. Another plain Business rifle in 40-50 SBN with a tight chamber would be a nice fun gun and might get used lot more than the rest as I shoot the hell out of my 40-70 bn. It is in the future, but I am excited to hear and think about yours which is a reality soon to happen, best of luck with it. bobw

Bob that should get the job done on "long range" work----the straighter stock also helps things come straight back which just has to be preferred for the really long range work !!!!
I don't care for the strap on cheek pieces either, i do like a leather slip over butt cover with some sorbathane in it

Yeah i have always thought that even if i wasn't a good shot i could look better than the guy's next to me-----it can hurt right Smile and everyone know the better a riflegun looks the better it shootsCool
time to reload for tomorrows club match !!!!!

Keep well and stay safe

Dave
Good luck on the match tomorrow take some names, leave no wounded, take no prisoners, and give no quarter. bobw
