Yes it will be interesting to see if that long nosed bullet will stay on mark in the winds and long range. One good feature of that bullet and that is the shank is longer then the ogive and this should help with the slower 1/19 ROT.
Don I finally had a chance to put the .44-77 on sand bags for getting 100 to 250 yard scope settings for the Buffalo hunt this fall. Man what an eye opener I got shooting this rifle with the scope. I always shot it well with the barrel sights at all of the Quigley targets and the close 200 yard paper. I had some left over from the last Buff hunt that were loaded with 75 gr of 2F OE and the original sharps bullet cast @ 480 gr with 1/30 T/L. After getting on paper at 200 I tested the windage adjustments by moving 2.5 mimutes to see how it reads on the paper and it moved 5" cant ask for more then that.
The good part, at 200 yards the group was as large as the 2" orange sticker I shot at
That my friend is good enough for a behind the ear shot.
