Dan T's last bullet design

Next mould was gonna be the BACO 459525 money that was recommended, but that was for the 70. Now I'm findin myself askin whether there's a money recommendation for the 90. Figure it might like sumthin more like 535 gr? OR, in the best of all worlds, would the same money be good for both rifles for long distance? Thanks

The 458535JM3 works well in both the 45-70 and the 90. That tapered band lets it seat out a little further in some rifles.
From my CPA that JM3 bullet with 81 grs. of OE 1 1/2 clocked a touch under 1350 at the nationals last year. It's crowning moment was before we had the big wind on the 1000 on Saturday, fired an 8,9,10,10 in sighters 2-10's and an x before the wind buggered things up, never did get back on target,but if we had not lost the wind, that score would of been a good one.

Thanks Don. That 1350 sounds ideal for the BC of the money nose if I'm reading things correctly, and @ 535 it should play well with Kate's 70. Gonna have to be THE LAST mould for a while. Another 40 hrs of reading and I oughta be able to close the deal. But more likely than not, and as usually happens, I'll end up back @ yer original recommendation. It also has the advantage of bein a Dan T and of NOT bein a mini-groove (the coming 90 is 34"...I know, but I'm still ok w/ it, specially as I'm more interested in long range than anything else, and cuz I wipe anyway).

With that 90 you'll probably want to learn a good wiping routine, no matter what bullet you end up shooting.

I'm getting it down Don, from the amount of moist to the amount of pressure pushing them thru. Beginning to look for that right amount of fouling to leave behind. Also plan on lightly lubing the noses. Forget where I read that tho. Just ordered that BACO money too. We're set for a while. Thank you again.
