I responded to a shooting in progress. I was about a minute away and when I got there, the "shooter" was lying dead in the middle of the street of a broken neck. The "shootee" was sitting on the curb, shirtless, with five bullet holes in his chest. Five rounds of .25ACP ball ammo from point-blank range. Three of the five never made it into the chest cavity. Two did, one clipping each lung. "Shootee" refused medical treatment and bled out, internally, after about fifteen minutes.
"Shootee" had told "shooter"; "If you shoot me, I'm going to break your neck!"
Similar scenario, except it was an A.P.D. officer, shot twice in the abdomen, below his vest, with .22lr. Dropped him on the spot because the bullets ricocheted around inside him. Died two hours later on the Operating Table, they couldn't patch up all of the holes fast enough.
Rule #1 - Have a gun
