RE: The 'itch'.....
Mulhern, Just for grins I checked out the TOTW site, and shonuff I found what looks like the Green River Hawken you are looking at; the description matches exactly what you posted earlier. I've been into black powder shooting since the mid-70's and have only seen a couple of those rifles up close. They are very well made, finished and shoot just as good as they look. I think you'll really like it, and the .54 cal. is definitely a good all around caliber for a lot of things.

Congratulations, and ya probably owe Rdnck a good ol' fashioned Kansas big buck hunt or something; kind of a finder's fee ya know.Big Grin

Regards

Well Rick you got me scratching again too. It's been a while since I had the woodchips and sawdust flying and the squeaking of the file across iron. I have this picture I been looking at and you just made that itch really pesky again.

There is something about a Hawken in your hands when your out in a frosty morning during hunting season. I will be looking forward to seeing you pull up to the house if you can swing in. Bill has been asking if I was going to get down to shoot his irons but the weather and Doctors sort of have tied down. But you never know I might be knocking on your door before you make it up this way.
Either way we will make smoke.
I have all the iron short of the barrel and wood for this one. When I pick up my CPA I will swing in one of the saw mills in PA and look for a nice hunk of sugar maple.
