Green Mtn. had some round barrel blanks a while back, don't know if they still do or not. They seem to change inventory faster than Sam's Club, if you see something when you're there you best buy it , otherwise it might not be there on the next trip..

About to try a 16 twist ss from Krieger. I am thinking 45-70 at 32" regular land width as they do not offer a wide land in 16 twist.

My 16 twist Douglas has 8 very narrow lands of .060" with .130" grooves and it shoots very good. I was a little concerned when I saw it. I like the 5 wide grooved barrels, but I cant find fault with the 8 groove.

The 16 is a special order and they said it would at least be 6 months. The last barrel I got form them for the .44-100 tollefson rifle it took the whole fall and winter before I got it.

I think Dave keeps a constant order with them and Douglas, so there may be a chance one of those 16 twist is not far away.
