Which histerical marker?
The Rawhide butte one on the county line I'm about 15 mi southwest.
We're just about 15 mi due north of the old fort, but by the time you get around the road its closer to 24 mi.

I don't remember, just remember seeing one between Ft Laramie and Guernsey

Okdoky we're about 15 miles north as the crow flies. About 13 miles to Guernsey by the road.

RE: Forsyth Monthly Buffalo Match
Trapper, my midrange sight has 125 pts between the 50 yd zero and topped out at the top of the staff with 151 pts with my 26" barrel it gets to the Quigley buffalo either at 784 or 805 with 139 to 143 pts of elev with a 408 gr 40 cal at 1200fps. With my 45-2 7/8's and a 548 gr ppb at 1275fps 140 pts at 805 and 164pts at 1000 and 195 pts at 1200 yds. Maybe your loads are flatter than mine or maybe your mid range staff is taller. Lot of maybe there. It is not that far for you to go and find out for yourself. goodluck with it . bobw

RE: Forsyth Monthly Buffalo Match
bobw, thanks for the information, If I recall right my 565 gr ppb is traveling at 1275 fps too. My 100 yard zero is 34 and the top of my sight is 200. I was thinking I should be able to hit 1000 yards at about 173 or so. I am really not sure though. I haven't shot but 300 yards with my rifle. I am going to try to get to Forsyth this Sunday for their match, but I think work is going to get in the way. It might be a better start for a first time shooter since the targets will be a little closer (300-650yards). 1000 yard match is probably not the place to start, all though I think it would have been a lot of fun.

They will have more 1000+ yd matches. The top of my mid range staff says 200 also but you can't adjust the sight too 200. Loosen your eyepiece and adjust it up as far as it will go, tighten down the eye piece and read where you are at on your vernier scale. Get back to us then. also take a ruler and measure the distance between the frt sight aperature and the eye piece. bobw

The top of my staff says 250 and I can use it to 200. The sight radius is 38 1/2" from front sight to eye piece.

RE: Forsyth Monthly Buffalo Match
I'll take a stab at this again, with your 34" barrel and a 38.5" sight radius with a .34 100 yd zero and 1275 giving your bullet a bc of .44 you need to add 138.4+ or -MOA. On your sight radius that's 1.52" placing you at 1.86 on on the staff for 1000 yds, for 1200yds 213Moa or2.31" on the staff. The sight radius of 38.5 means ea .011" of sight movement = 1 MOA. Your bc might be more or less. Lots of factors can change your staring point. bobw
