good buff hunting book

The Buffalo Runners by Fred Grove

very good, very technical about the guns, loads, etc.

and a good story so far....Ken

I just ordered one on BookFinder. Now I must wait about 10 days...

the wait will be worth it. this guy must shoot Sharps, he goes into reloading at the campsite too.
I was walking through our library, and it more or less fell off the shelf. LARGE PRINT too....
I'm half way through it and it's getting better. I may buy one to keep...
I'm certainly going to see what other books he wrote....

first few pages he goes into a store and starts to buy his equipment and examines the rifles...
oh well...go read it.. and wait for the shooting out on the planes Ken

Thank you for your recommendation. Thank you for stating the author's name - there are two books by the same name. I just purchased the book on Amazon for under $10 including shipping.

He wrote one called Buffalo Spring too. Grove os one of my favorite authors.

I got my hardbound copy of The Buffalo Runners complete with dust jacket. The picture on the front of the dust jacket is a tall standing .30-06 cartridge..! Apparently the publisher had no idea...

I guess so...mine came from the library without jacket. read the first few pages about him buying Sharps rifles.....it's pretty good...I enjoyed it...Ken

Oh yes! I'm enjoying the reading, very much. I was just surprised to see a .30-06 on the book's cover. No, the .30-06 is not reflected in the story at all. Shoot sharp, Mike
