Don, what are you doing buying a shotgun?! Just before we headed south I decided to pack shotguns instead of BP rifles. Bought Sue a 20 gauge 11-87 and we are having a blast shooting trap when not exploring the desert on the SXS.

Did manage to get most of my casting done for next season. Looking forward to a better year.

RE: Question
Mike, just messing around. Maybe do a little bird hunting and some trap shooting.
Where about in Cactus Land are you?

Wickenburg area. Fascinating history with the old gold mining camps. Headed to Lake Havasu area next. All new country for us. Been wondering how those old prospectors survived the elements.

Will you be at Ben Avery in March?

RE: Question
Hey Don I don't think that scatter gun will do any good at the chickens either LOL.

Mike the Wickenburg area is nice. I stay at the Lost Dutchman's mining camp at Stanton when I get there.

RE: Question
Mike I like Wickenburg. Up in the Skull valley and around Congress is some nice country to, but was horribly disappointed in Prescott, nothing but an extension of Phoenix. Have you been up in the Joshua forest north of Wickenburg , that's a nice drive out from Wickenburg to Kingman. When you get over there to Havasua stay on the AZ side of the river, much friendlier territory... Also you might want to think about going down to Quartzite, look up the Burrwood park out south of town in the La Paz valley. The guy that manages that one is our son in laws step dad. They do all sorts of activities there, and once a week they have what they call the Monkey Brigade, they all jump on the ATV's and take off on a ride, some of them go for a half day some go for all day. There are a few of them that go out prospecting too. Mostly planning on Phoenix, but we never know what mother nature has in store.

Kurt judging by the way this twice barreled carbine shot on bluroc here , 3 shots and prairie chicken hunting would be done for the day, man this thing is a pleasure to shoot.

RE: Question
I used to shoot a lot of trap till they put a highway right through the trap range.
I shot a Browning Superposed till the rib lifted up off the barrel Smile It sure was a fine feeling gun. I still have a 870 trap in the safe I haven't shot since the 80's that has a Reinhart Fajen stock I put on it that I wish I could fit to one of my rifles.

A little hint to extend that scatter gun out to the 200 mtr line for knocking down the chicks Smile get some Vaseline and mix it with the shot. It will act like a slug for a long distance. Smile
