Harris Match
The guys at GRRC put on a great long range,1000 yard only, match this past weekend. Beautiful weather and fair winds! More of you Lodi shooters should consider making the trip north for some great long range shooting!
Just wanted to throw in a plug for Harris and thank the guys there for their great hospitality to a new Wisconsin shooter!

RE: Harris Match
Jim,
You should post the results if you have them and can do that sort thing. Details of the winner's rifle and load would be of interest too! Pictures are always appreciated!

RE: Harris Match
Sorry Jim. Maybe one of the Harris guys will see this and post results. There were pictures taken, but not by me.
I can, however, supply the other information you request.
The winning load. Starline 45-70 case, Federal 210 primer, 85 grains Swiss 1 1/2, .060 poly wad, 534 grain Distant Thunder Lucky #6 bullet patched with 9# onion skin paper.
The rifle. Shiloh #3 sportier, (9 1/2 lbs.) 30” standard weight 1/2 round barrel. MVA long range rear, Shaver front.
Of interest to me was the second place winners equipment. He shot a custom 45 caliber muzzle loading rifle using a paper patched bullet. He shot prone using a wrist rest. Maybe he’ll see this and supply more information.
The third place winner was shooting a beautiful Sharps Borchart (sp?)

RE: Harris Match
It sounds like I missed a good one again.
I had the ammo loaded and in the gypsy wagon all ready to go but I decided to mow the lawn and it did the number on my back falling inr=to a badger hole. By evening I stood up and it was like I had no leg and down on the floor. Camper is still loaded and maybe I will make Alma this weekend.

Same thing happens too often to me, Kurt, and I don’t even need to step in a hole, a small stone will suffice.

RE: Harris Match
Congrats to Jim Ruch!!!!
Harris is closer to me than Lodi, I guess I should have tried to go to this one also.

RE: Harris Match
Kevin,
They put on a great match at Harris. For me it's a bit farther than Lodi, but worth the trip for sure.

RE: Harris Match
Thanks Kevin. I wish you could’ve been there too. This match was more civilized as far as wind conditions. I could make use of my old theory. “ A good break is worth three minutes of wind.”
Jim you can always break up the trip to Harris by stopping here. We’ve got room!
