RE: It just won't quit!!!!!
The match I was referring to was the Highpower opener, always held on the last weekend of April.
I’ve never been to the Schuetzen match which is held every year on that same range. Arnie has shot there and we were recently talking about it. I’d like to try it and Arnie has offered to let me use some of his equipment provided we can both make it.
I hope period dress isn’t required. Just can’t see myself in lederhosen!
Speaking of Arnie. Think good thoughts for him. He’s had surgery today.

Tim,
Welcome to the discussion. Hopefully you will share some of your experiences with us here. It's a pretty good crowd, they have been good to me.
The first question I have to ask is, what are you shooting rifle/cartridge wise? And, if I may, in what part of the world do you live? It's always good to have some background.
I'm happy you have decided to join us in the conversation.

Thanks for the warm welcome Jim. I have a Cpa in 45-70, standard chamber. I have been shooting bullets from a BACO 455 545e. I have been wrapping with Staedtler tracing paper. I live near lewiston idaho. Tim

Paper patch! Good! I have been using Staedtler tracing paper some too. It seems to work well for me.
I shoot a few different rifles, but my long-range rifle is also a .45-70. It does have a special tight chamber for paper patch, which works very well. The .45-70 with PPB can be very competitive at 1000 yards. It's never at bad choice.
