A while back I noticed while shooting my Shiloh 45 2 7/8...(the one with powderburner's bull barrel) that with a 3 o/clock wind of about 7 mph that from 300 yards I was needing 2 MOA LEFT wind to hit center so I took my tools to the range and made a needed correction to the Distant Thunder front sight. The wind was coming in from 2 o/clock at about 6-8 mph but on occasion it would dampen out, cycle...mirage come to a brief boil and remain that way long enough for me to get a shot off. After moving the front sight I fired ten rounds only when the wind would cease and the mirage came to a boil and after a couple of corrections with the light hammer and brass punch I had this dude where I wanted it. Took me a full hour waiting for the wind to be where I wanted it but my mind is at rest with the fact that I'm centered up! All shots impacted within 1 1/2 MOA of center firing with the boil.
